This week's assignments

Hello students,

You have two assignments this week. They are:

1. For Thursday, Jan. 31 – You are a reporter at a press conference with Patriots coach Bill Belichick or Giants coach Tom Coughlin. Come up with two questions you would ask either coach.

Two rules: The questions must be thoughtful and relevant. And, you cannot duplicate questions. If someone already has posted the question you had, you must think of another.

The questions must be posted before class begins on Thursday.

2. For Friday, Feb. 1 – Write up your presidential candidate issue profile and send to me by e-mail. My e-mail address is richclew@hotmail.com. The assignment is due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday.

Thank you and have a good week!

Which do you feel has been more important to the success of your football team: player's individual skill or the ability to communicate as a team?

Suppose you lose the upcoming superbowl game. How badly will this tarnish the image of perfection that your team has been crafting all season long?

Besides the prestige of it being the superbowl, is the preparation for this game any different than it was for game 1?

Eli Manning has had by far the best 4 game stretch of his career. A lot of Eli's success has to be credited to Plaxico Burress. Would you consider rolling over your coverage towards his side of the field? similar to what the Jaguars and Chargers displayed to shut down Moss.

Since rain and cold weather would not be a factor in this game. Would you consider opening your first offensive drive in the spread offense and pass the ball more since the weather would not be an issue?

Word in the press this week has been that Tom Brady wore a boot on his foot in order to psyche out the Giants before the big game, although by all accounts, he really has a valid injury. Do you feel as though resorting to a fake injury as a form of affecting how the other team plays is a form of foul play?

Where is the place where you think you will find to be the hardest to defeat the Giants? In other words, what do you feel is their strongest asset, and what do you see as your weakest at this point in the season?

1. Since taking over in New England, you have put together a dynasty. What kinds of lessons have you brought with you over the years since your time in Cleveland up untill now?

2. I can remember after the past few seasons in new york, previous Yankee manager Joe Torre always said that the year the passed was always his hardest to manage. Do you think every year gets harder to coach, especially with Spy Gate this year, Tom Brady, and off the field dealings with Randy Moss, and ofcourse the pressure to have a perfect season and end successful with a Superbowl ring?

How you doing Bill, Rob Antonson ESPN News..

1.) Just the other day Giants receiver, Plaxico Burress guaranteed victory and also predicted a score of 23-17..... He also said that the Giants receivers "do things just as well or maybe better than some of those" Patriots receivers. Do you feel like this material is great inspiration for your team, in winning the Superbowl and proving the Giants wrong?

2.) Why is it that many teams don't know when to keep their mouth shut. Meaning keeping their mouth shut before and after games and just go out their and leave it all out on the field. It seems like your team always has nothing but positive things to say about other teams, why can't other teams have the smarts as your team?

1. Coach Belichick your run this season has been great. In the first meeting with the Giants in week 17 your defence was a little shacky how do you feel your defence will perform this week and what have you done to prepare for it?

2. Coach Brandon Jacobs is a very aggresive runner and is more like a down hill runner and your linebackers are getting older now. Do you think the key to slowing Jacobs down is the front line of your defence and are going to have to rely on them more than you have in the past?

Seeing this might be Troy Brown's last game, will he be inactive or active this Sunday?

This is going to be your 4th superbowl, are your practices going to be any different from those practices of your previous superbowl games?

1) After seeing what happened to Tony Romo in regards to his relationship with Jessica Simpson, do you think Tom Brady's relationship with [supermodel] Giselle Bundchen will have any impact on his Superbowl performance?

2) Would you agree that the media's repeated attempts to discredit your players are unethical or just fuel for speculation?

1. Bill, if you were to lose the Superbowl do you think your team would be more remembered for going 16-0 or 18-1?

2. It is known that you have distributed the book "The Art of War" to your teams in the past. What do you feel they gain from this and what do you feel is the most inspirational quote in the text?

1. Tom Coughlin, it was rumored that your job was in jeopardy for not winning enough games. How do you feel now knowing that you are going to the superbowl despite the lack of faith people had in you?

2. Bill Belichick, the New England Patriots do not usually keep high priced players besides Tom Brady. Will the patriots be willing to pay more money to keep Randy Moss for the next season knowing that he is a high priced receiver?

1. If you win the Superbowl, you will have had a perfect season. Is there a bigger accomplishment than that in coaching in your eyes?

2. How do you feel about all the attention that Tom Brady receives because of his personal life? Do you think it affects the team?

1. I've noticed a lot of other teams around the league sporting throwback jerseys during the regular season, yet the patriots did not. Was this some sort of superstition pertaining to not jinxing the ongoing perfect season?

2. Why do you cut the sleves off of your sweatshirts?

1. Do you think Randy Moss is going to be able to handle all the pressure being put on him to perform in the Super Bowl, after only having 1 catch in the past 2 playoff games?

2. Tom Brady has been on the Patriot's injury report all season with a shoulder injury despite throwing a record number of touchdowns. Was he ever really injured, or were you trying to get your opponents to let down their guard a little?

Jason Jasionowski said...

1.Bill Belichick, How do you feel about the recent comments made by Tom Brady on the resigning of Randy Moss for next season? Tom Brady said:"Wherever Randy goes, I go." Do you feel this is a way of Tom Brady telling the Patriots organization that they need to resign Moss after the season?

2.Tom Coughlin, Could you explain the success that you have had on the road this season by winning eight games on the road in a row. Also could you explain the last three victories on the road in the playoffs at Tampa Bay, Dallas, and Green Bay. How did you pull through the critics saying the Giants would not win on the road at Dallas and Green Bay?

1. Tom Coughlin: Your team has made the transition to well balanced, motivated football team. How much of this do you contribute to the heart to heart speech you gave in the locker room months ago in which you opened up to your players?

2. What made you decide to give that speech when you did? And do you feel that your coaching style or view of the game has changed since then?

Fabiola Estera said...
