Global warming is not a myth. It’s all on your view of it. Is it the apocalypse like the millennium? Is it all just a part of an extended cycle that goes on for spans of years that humans cannot even imagine? Or is it the effect of the last 100 years of wear and tear we’ve put on our planet? So it really depends on your view. When I see a dump truck shifting gears and in turn spit out a black cloud of smoke I can only believe that the human race has had some type of impact on whatever causes global warming. Whether it is exhaust from cars and factories, developers tearing down the rainforest, or waste that is not biodegradable there must be some type of connection. I think we need to have some serious change and I’m glad it’s such a prioritized issue in this coming election.

I don't think that global warming is a myth. There is scientific evidence supporting the idea. That fact that ice glaciers are melting indicates that our planet is getting warmer. On average, our planets temperature is higher than is was before the industrial revolution. More and more people are being born everyday, and more people are driving cars and using fuel. It may not fix the potential problem, but if wouldn't hurt if we took steps to help slow down global warming. Our generation may not be significantly impacted by global warming, but future generations very well could be.

The fact that the earth’s temperature has been gradually rising is an indisputable truth; the planet is getting warmer, and it has become apparent that humans are to blame for this increase. Our industrialized country has been spewing heavy clouds of hazardous chemicals into the atmosphere for quite some time now. These gases have tightened around the planet like a cocoon, and now help to hold excessive heat inside the earth’s atmosphere. It’s predicted that weather will continue to become more erratic and ice caps will continue to melt. How do we fix this? There is no one solution that will remedy the problems caused by global warming. What we are starting to do now (conserving fossil fuels, searching for alternative resources, and developing fuel efficient technology) are certainly steps in the right direction, but we need to take it further to ensure the safety of future generations. Global warming is not a fairy tale to be ignored; it’s a serious problem that needs to be dealt with.

Global warming is definitely a sad reality. Although I personally believe that over time the earth was bound to get warmer, I don't feel as though the human race is doing any real good to the atmosphere. We don't neccessarily have to counteract the earth's natural tendency to warm up, but making small steps in the right direction will do nothing but good for our planet in the future. At this point, all we can do is hope that it's not too late.

I think global warming is definately not a myth. I think enough scientific evidence and explanation proves that it is an important force to pay attention to. It shouldn'be be classified as a myth becuase it has great deal of importance to us either it being positive or negative.

From last class's discussion I found it interesting when the idea of oil being brought in the arctic and the question of who owned it came about. If we dont follow the idea of global warming and take it serioulsy then there could be major problems ahead. Instead of worrying about if its real or not, we should be worried about using electric cars, and if there could be political unrest between countries vying for the oil in the arctic. It's time to think of global warming not as a myth but as a very integral set of ideas that are important to our economy and overall environment and way of life.

I think global warming is real the fact that there is evidence of the temperatures rising. But I don't think that it's from what us as humans have been doing, but it could also be more of a natural process. There has been major climate changes in the past and there has been evidence of rising temperatures during ancient times. Still, we need to figure out a way to solve global warming in order to prevent any huge, irreversible climatic changes that could affect us.

Although many do believe that golbal warming is made up, I believe that it is a real issue. The earths climate has most definately been rising at a rapid pace. There are a number of thing events occuring that can only be explained by global warming. The average temperature is on the rise. There has been an increase in tropical storms and wildfires. Also, the polar ice caps are rapidly melting. As much as i do wish this was a myth, unfortunately the facts are showing that it may just be real.

I definitely think that Global warming is happening, and will only get worse if nothing is done. The human activity is the main driver in the climate change. There are changes happening on earth, its getting hotter, and something is causing it! Assessment Report describes progress in understanding of human and natural drivers of climate change. the natural carbon dioxide concentration growth rate was larger during the last 10 years. the growth is from fossil fuel use, the increase of methan gas. These are gases mostly used by humans. the atomospheric nitros oxide, along with the water vapor content has increased over land and ocean. The decrease in glaciers and snow has contributed to sea levels rising. Droughts have been observed even more frequently, for example, just this past summer, one of the U.S states to experience a drought was Georgia. Along with the pre-mature tornados with winds faster than a catagory 5 hurricane. A lot of this can be said to the changes in the earth's climate. Of course most of the changes could very well be the earths way of showing its age, and this could all be natural. But I believe, that just like a cigarettes smoker can assist themselves to an early death, even though its the inevitable. In essence the human contributions to the earths climate change maybe assisting the current global warming problems that we are experiencing today.

I really feel that global warming is true and is not a myth. If you just look at the temperature increase in the last 100 years it has gone up which has been affecting our atmosphere. This increase in temperature has also lead to more storms, such as the catastrophic hurricanes and tornadoes that we have seen recently. Like we talked about in class the other day, the summer temperatures have been increasing here in Rhode Island. I have noticed this temperature increase through the last 10 years and I feel it is due to the global warming.

I believe that global warming is definitely real. It is a serious issue that we have to begin to address now. Global warming is such of a real issue that it may decide who our next president is. That is how we know how important global warming is. By reading the New York Times article on global warming it seems that we are responsible for what is going on in our planet. And that is why is our responsibility to make adjustments in our lifestyles to protect our environment.

I believe that global warming is definitely real. There is so much scientific evidence to support it, and not much to dispute it. I think it is because of pollution and people destroying the earth, and that we should definitely take steps to protect the environment, like using hybrid cars and other "green" products. But I also believe that we can only slow down the effects. Whatever is going to happen will, whether it is in our lifetime or our children's.

I think Global warming is real and really happening. Although some people don't want to believe that it is in fact happening, it seems the only way to explain the changes within the environment. There is also the debate whether we as humans are at fault. I believe it's part human contribution and part nature. We can't do anything to control the nature part, but we can have an impact as humans to try and change our part.

I don't know if I believe global warming is a fact or just a myth. There is plenty of information and statistics out there that can be tweaked to show evidence for whatever it is you are trying to prove. It is like anything else in statistics. The Earth's weather patterns cycle over time, and thats why we have had multiple ice ages. I don't believe that the issue of global warming is as serious as they make it out to be. It is a big scare now to push people to make a change for later. It reminds me of the big "sun scare" in which doctors, magazines, scientists, and scholars all tell people that they need to avoid the sun at all costs and any exposure is bad for you. There are many benefits to sunlight both physically and mentally. Companies can make more money by marketing sunscreens and make up than they can selling the sun for "free.99". I imagine if the world continues to operate the same way it does now that we eventually will have a problem similar to global warming. We as humans just have to be a little more responsible and find a source of energy to power cars that is safer and more efficient.

In my opinion, global warming is not a myth. Based on what I know about the environment and the scientific evidence that has been shown to me, I can only come to the conclusion that global warming is very real, very serious, and very dangerous. However, I do think their is hope in regards to controlling this problem, but I don't think the powers that be are utilizing enough of their resources in order to take the proper course of action. Nevertheless, I think global warming is very much a reality and it's only a matter of time before this problem gets progressively worse.

I think Global warming is a real problem. At first I did not think much of it but when I seen how much the glaciers have melted over the years I'm starting to get worried. It is true that the planet is getting warmer, which is not all that bad for us in Rhode Island but think of all the states and countries where it's always hot. The southern states already can hit 100 degree weather. I would hate for it to get any warmer. The problem can't be fixed over night but we can do something to slow it down for future generations to come.

Global warming is very real. The science of it is what makes it so real. Scientists have been trying to find out about global warming for years now and still cant get a grasp on how to stop it. They do know that we the people are making it happen but I think that it is a circular process and it is going to happen anyways but we are just speeding up the process and making it happen that much faster and no one knows how to fully prevent. We have ideas on how to slow it down but it is going to occur no matter what. So yes it is real

I think if you are someone who bases his or her opinions on hearsay, propaganda, false reporting, skewed evidence, interest groups and advertising (which most people are)
then there’s a good chance you think global warming is a myth.
But if you’re someone who bases there opinions in scientific research, scholarly research and review, mathematics, physics, and other logic based disciplines, then there is a good chance you know global warming is REAL!

Global Warming is not a myth. Already, we are beginning to see the effects that mankind is having on this planet. The problem is that for some reason, we believe that we are the end result of evolution and therefore the planet is ours to do what we want with. We can't fathom the fact that we are meant to be a blip on the timeline of this planet. Global warming's effects are happening already. Parts of the Amazon river dry up where it has never been a problem before. The soil in the Champagne region of France is becoming dry and fickle. So much ice is melting in Greenland now that boats must be used to travel through the ocean which have always been solid pieces of ice. Previously dog sleds were the preferred method of hunting/fishing. Now it is obsolete. During the summer of 2003 in Paris, France, 13,000 died from heatstroke because the temperatures rose so high. England, for the first time ever, actually has better climate than most parts of France in terms of wine-grape growing. Changes are taking place all over the world. To not believe in Global Warming is on par with not believing in evolution.

I think global warming is not a myth.It is clear that human activities, mainly burning fossil fuels and deforestation, are a great part of the cause of this warming. Because these human activities are expected to continue into the future, scientists predict that the earth will continue warming. The debate among scientists who study global warming are, How much warming? What will be the impact of the warming on natural ecosystems and people? How fast will the earth warm?
There are two ways to stop global warming which is Improve energy efficiency, or shift to energy sources with lower (or no) greenhouse emissions.
Ultimately no government will adopt the restrictions on economic growth and personal freedom (limits on electricity usage, and driving) that might curb global warming. Still, politicians want to show they're doing something. I believe the only thing that could potentially stop global warming is new technology that will allow us to live safer, healthy to our environment lives.

I beleive global warming is real and its not a myth. After years of study scientist have proven that its real. I beleive the government and different organizations will no spend million of dollars on somehting that is a myth. Recent weather has been showing that the earth is heating up and causing natural disasters in areas. It is possible without it early in our society hundreds of centuries ago we wouldnt be here today the earth will still eb in ica cap. so i believe global warming is the real deal.
