My favorite part of the movie was when the government worker with no scientific background made substance altering revisions on the publication of global warming as a 'potential' problem. It really shines light on our country’s capacity for negligence and inability to take responsibility. I learned a few various tidbits and statistics but it really all came together to present the reality and severity of global warming. Not only that but the movie made fixing global warming seem possible

I really liked how he showed that in our history we've been too late to fix problems that we had fair notice to intercept. I learned a lot as far as statistics go. It was crazy to see what the world would look like with an extra 20 feet of water. One of my favorite movies is The Day After Tomorrow. It's crazy to think what could happen in the future.

I was really surprised to see photos of what parts of the world looked like just 20 or 30 years ago compared to what they look like now. The media often talks about ice melting and this and that, but I hadn't seen pictures that had as much impact as some of those did. It really made me realize how close to home global warming is, especially since I have been to Glacier National Park and the Swiss Alps.

I believe when Gore showed how much of certain areas would be submerged under water was truly eye opening. It is scary to think that one day not only our homes, but our neighborhoods could be no longer. I personally have not researched golbal warming a great deal, so majority of the movie was new information to me. I always knew what could potentially happen, but the way that Gore presented the visuals of global warming made the issue much more real to me.

For me, the highlight of the film was when Gore explained what the Keeling Curve was. Whether or not it was meant to add "shock value" to his presentation is irrelevant, but the fact that he had to use a lift in order to get to the potential level of carbon dioxide in the earth's atmosphere was both highly informative and alarmingly frightening. Of course, with that being said, I had no idea the level of carbon dioxide in the earth's atmosphere had the potential to increase that much in such a short period of time. I actually thought it would be centuries before the earth would be subjected to the full effects of global warming, but after seeing the Keeling Curve, I can honestly say I am much more concerned for the well-being of the earth that I was beforehand.

I think the part that got me was when Gore explained about the permafrost. I can remember how he was talking about how oil trucks would drive on the land to distribute oil. The ground was ok to drive on and get to about 200 days a year. Gore exlained that now, due to higher temperatures, there are only 75 days a year that make it ok for these trucks to get the oil.

Another big part in the film was when he got up on the fork lift to give a perfect visual of how high the temperatures could get on earth if global warming wasnt watched closely. I thought it was interesting how he sort of played devils advocate. He said we must protect the environment from global warming but at the same time, not protect it to much that it starts to hurt our economic growth at the same time.

All and all, I got to get a better idea of what global warming was with a basic understanding with basic numbers. I got to see Gore as a person and not as a political leader. It was interesting to see another side of him and I gained a respect for him as a researcher.

The message that highlighted the film
'' The inconvenient Truth'' was that is not too late for us to clean up our planet and to make a difference on the environment. Most of the film was based on stats and facts about Global warming. In addition, there were many projections made about CO2 and how will it impact us in the future. Overall I really enjoyed this film. I think that Al Gore did a great job in presenting the facts and thoroughly breaking down each aspect. I find that very important because most of the material that Gore was covering was new to me, and by the end of the film it made me realize how strong is our planet but yet how fragile it is. After watching this film I am now motivated to learn more about global warming and also learn about other ways that we can help prevent it.

There was a lot that I didn't know about global warming before seeing this film. What was most shocking to me was to see the damage that has already been done with the then and now photos of what remains of existing glaciers, as well as how much damage can be done in the next 50 years. It was also interesting to see how they go about measuring the age and depth of a glacier.

The highlight in the film for me waw when Mr. Gore was showing us the number in the last 600,000,000 years and how high it was and he had to ride on that folk lift. I liked that part because it shows that global warming is a huge problem and even still some people think it's a myth and that it isn't true but it is very much true. I leard alot about how the scientist predict whats going to happen and also the numbers are so high. Another cool part was when he was talking about Greenland and Antartica and how they are falling apart I thought that was interesting as well. Overall it was a very interesting video and helped me learn more about whats going on in the world with global warming.

The highlight of "An Inconvenient Truth" for me was when Al Gore went up on the lift and elevated it up to the area where the temperature of the earth could get to due to global warming. This just shocked me by the amount the temperature could rise and how much this will change the earth and the organisms that live here. There were many items talked about in this movie which I didn't realize. Some of them are: global warming not only causes more rainfall but drought as well and coral reefs are also loosing their color from the changes in this environment due to global warming.

I never really knew too much about global warming before taking this class. I always assumed that it was something that wouldn't effect me. After watching "An Inconvenient Truth" I realized that global warming is going to effect everyone. I was most shocked to see how much the world's surface would change if the polar ice caps melted. To see half of Europe underwater was completely shocking. The idea of losing all that history and culture, plus the number of refugees there would be, was shocking to me. Seeing that global warming could effect use within the next 10-20 years really made me stop and think about how each of us could do our part in preventing it from changing the world.

I agree with Mike Z about the fact that most of the movie focused on Al Gore's life as opposed to the major factor, Global Warming. For me, however, the highlights of the film would have to be the before and after images of the different land massesa as well as tourist locations. I noticed many of the before pictures were taken with cloudy skies overhead, and the after pictures are taken in what seems to be the summer season, depending on which side of hemisphere. I think that the pictures were obviously chosen for a reason, and that is to solidify the issue that Al Gore is trying to make us aware of. The images as well as video of the glaciers falling off are what made a lasting impression in my head. The numbers and graphs do nothing for me, because in statistics you can make any number set convincable.

Although I had already seen most of the film, I felt as though seeing it wholly gave me a better understanding of global warming and its effects both now and in the future. One of the items I found most disturbing was the different animals that are being affected by global climate change. When Gore spoke about polar bears drowning after swimming 60 miles to try and find a hard piece of ice to rest upon was sad. Also, Gore talked about the time differences from when birds are hatching to when caterpillars are coming out. The difference in time is making it hard for the young birds to get the nutrition they need. Such losses in the animal kingdom could potentially throw all sorts of seasonal expectations out of whack, and will have serious side effects on how certain animals live their lives.

The highlight of the movie for me was when Al Gore showed all the photos of how much global warming has affected different important landmarks of the world (i.e the polar ice caps that are rapidly disapearing, how much the snow has melted in Mt. Kilamanjaro in Africa). Another thing that struck me was when he showed what would happen to certain countries if the ice caps and glaciers melted. I was shocked when he showed that we would be under water similar to what happened in hurricane Katrina. Before viewing the film I did not know how much global warming would affect the animals (i.e polar bears looking food and shelter and the catapillars being born ealier than the birds causing the birds to struggle for food). I also did not realize all the diseases that global warming could bring forth from insects and parasites. After viewing this documentary I have a new outlook on the issue and I take it more serious than I did previously.

the most interesting part of the movie was the reality check I got when I saw entire lakes dry up to almost nothing, an the differences from just two decades. I like that Gore made the concept mainstream. The knowledge is now out there, he added comedic touch and dramic affect by adding his personal life to it. I didn't like that he mentioned things that probably not happen for acare tactics. Overall it explained global warming very well and broke it down so that almost anyone could understand it. I also learned alot about currents and certain "what if"?s.

One of the biggest highlights, among all of the great points of the effects of global warming. Was the effect it's having on the coral reefs, the bleeching of the species loss is accuring 1000 times greater now than ever before. Also, with the glaciers melting, it was reported that Greenland is in scare of melting, which would effect the sea levels in Florida, Beijing, California, Shanghai, Calcutta India, and New York City. This could be catistrophic and would cause population demand for food and shelter. Many have already experienced tragadies in Darfur and Niger due to droughts in Africa. I definitly learned alot just from wathing this film. Learning that one of the earths largets lakes, Lake Chad, had already dried up in the last few decades. How new found city, Nirobe, mosquitoes are growing to higher altitudes. 30 new deseases have surfaced ex. Sars, Avian flu, and the west nile virus. All of which can attribute some of its results from Global Warming. The film was very informative and I learned a lot about these affects, not only form wathing the film but also from the news I watch everyday.

A highlight of the movie, or rather what stood out to me the most was towards the end where Al Gore talked about and showed how we as a society have the resources and technology to help solve global warming and prevent any more damage from happening. It gives a feeling of closure/hope that there is a way to make a difference to stop/halt global warming

I think one of the scenes in the movie that had the most impact on the viewer was when it showed the particular parts that have already been affected by global warming and what they had looked like previously. It not only showed the tangible effects that it has had already, but also touched on the recession of the icebergs. I feel like this is one of the best ways to convey how serious of an issue this really is. It's hard to convince people of a notion that spans such a long period. "Before" and "After" pictures are an effective method.

I liked the end of the movie how he showed all the countries that are doing something about global warming. I got the feeling that nobody was really doing anything about it until that part. It bothered me to know that polar bears are drowning, because I am an animal lover. The rate of the ice melting was disturbing. Watching the glaciers falling was strange for me to watch. I felt that Al Gore did a good job explaining was global warming is, and what we can do about it. He may have gotten a little dramatic, but that's how you get people's attention.

Sorry for my comment for being late, having the flu really doesnt help...

My favorite part of the movie is when Gore was showing the levels of carbon dioxide in the upcoming years, and showed that in about 40-50 years the level of carbon dioxide will be so high that are temperature will be high and we will have no glaciers remaining. I like how he went on the forklift and raised himself as high as the level that we will be at, and its just crazy to see how high the level actually goes. I learned that carbon dioxide has a great part to do with global warming. Also that carbon dioxide is the reason why we have warmth, one at least, which i didn't know
